A cheque for £212.95 was presented by Mayor Peter Freeman on behalf of the Council to the local cancer charity Tenovus with the funds that were raised during the recent “Songs of Praise” event held on 7th July. This is an annual cross-congregational event, arranged by the Council that is held on the Sunday of the Burry Port Carnival weekend. A collection is held every year to support a different local charity and this year’s chosen charity was Tenovus.
For more information about Tenovus please take a look at their website. As the leading cancer charity in Wales their work is aimed at helping those who have cancer and those close to them via research, treatment, emotional support and practical advice.
Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council is proud to support this charity and their work in our community.
