The Town Council tend to the Memorial Gardens and the Amelia Earhart Gardens, both opposite the Memorial Institute. we aim to provide a green haven in the middle of the town for visitors and residents alike to relax in and enjoy. As the name would suggest, the memorial Gardens contain a War Memorial and the Amelia Earhart Gardens contain a memorial to the landing of Amelia Earhart in Burry Port, during the first trans-Atlantic flight by a woman.
We are also very proud of our floral displays around Pembrey and Burry Port, on the roundabouts, in hanging baskets, and through our work with local groups and organisations to bring a bit of colour to every corner. We have won awards from Wales in Bloom and Britain in Bloom for our efforts in 2016 and 2017.
