Blue Plaques

We are lucky in Burry Port to have a very active Heritage Group who are enthusiastic about all aspects of the areas history and heritage. Through the groups research and other projects they had identified a number of individuals and groups of people who have had a big impact on the development of the town throughout its history but did not have much in the way of public recognition. To try and address that and ensure their stories were still known and celebrated, the group decided to design a number of blue plaques for placing around the town. To support this endeavour, the Town Council agreed to fund one of the plaques and to make the arrangements for purchase, installation, insurance and maintenance for each plaque as they are funded by the group.
