Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council are delighted to be receiving £50,000 from the Heritage Fund from the National Lottery and Welsh Government towards the redevelopment of 4 sites of parks and open spaces in Pembrey and Burry Port.
Pembrey and Burry Port is the first project to be supported by this grant programme.
The projects will see the development of areas such as, a community orchard, a sensory and mindfulness garden and an eco-park.
Work on the projects will be starting very soon, and together with local volunteers, the Town Council will provide open spaces for the whole community and visitors to enjoy.
This is another example that the Town Council are addressing the needs of the community.
Cllr Robert John, Chair of the Facilities and Assets committee said ‘ The Town Council are delighted to be receiving this grant towards the development of these open spaces to support the wellbeing of the people in our community. In the current climate, open spaces have never been so important.’
